Altered Balance / 2014-2019

Altered Balance - A Tribute to Coil, (Infinity Land Press 2014, 2015 & 2019) is a collaboration piece with the award-winning poet and novelist Jeremy Reed, and the first book devoted to Coil's founding member, John Balance, who tragically died of a fall on 13 November 2004.

These highly empathetic, mood-sensitive photos document the personal belongings, places and locations related to the artist's life and death, and resonate with Reed's charged imaginative writing depicting his personal friendship with Balance in an acutely detailed and moving sequence of poems and prose memoir.
