Tears of a Komsomol Girl / 2020
This set of staged crime scene photographs and collage illustrations was created for the publication of Tears of a Komsomol Girl by Audrey Szasz (Infinity Land Press, 2020), an experimental concept novel based on the real-life crimes of Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo.
Captured over a period of four weeks in various London locations, the photographs were juxtaposed with Arseniy Kotov's images of Soviet-era urban landscapes and newspaper clippings to be subsequently used as prima materia for the book’s illustrations.
