Artefacts of Self-Destruction

Artefacts of Self-destruction is a set of photographs created for The Void Ratio by Shane Leve, published by Infinity Land Press in 2015.

In this series, I isolate and record the forensics of a ‘lifescene’ (here being the author’s own drug paraphernalia) at times discovering a breathtaking beauty emitted by the objects. My lens turns the otherwise inanimate objects into landscapes, structures and horizons, revealing the universal blackness of history and the corporeal qualities of the user in the traces of blood and carbon left behind.
